ASSISTANT CONVENTIONS AND EVENTS MANAGERResorts

The award-winning The Romanos, a Luxury Collection Resort and The Westin Resort, Costa Navarino are seeking for an Assistant Conventions and Events Manager to reflect the true essence of hospitality, creating in every guest a worth remembering experience.

Being part of our Conventions and Events team you will:

  • Achieving an optimal economic result.
  • Guaranteeing a smooth, service oriented events sequence
  • Draw up and distribute all necessary reports
  • Send out all correspondence within 24 hours of conversation or receipt of written request
  • Action all Opera activities and contact client targeting business conversion and revenue security (deposits etc)
  • Amend all changes in Opera keeping track of all new information. Contact clients and run any site inspections for future events.
  • Prepare the meeting and participate in it in the absence of the C&E Manager
  • Provide all relevant information of each group to the F&B Service Team in order to handle operation of all in-house groups ensuring the smooth operation. Contact with client following all quality standards set targeting highest guest satisfaction.
  • Prepare and participate on a weekly basis in the absence of the C&E Manager.
  • Efficient usage of all systems and good maintenance
  • Ensure a safe environment for our guests and Associates at all times
  • Efficient and friendly support to other Associates within own and other departments
  • Know about the facilities of the hotels and Starwood in general
  • Be responsible for own self development
  • To assist the efforts of Field Sales Team when needed and if allowed by C&E Manager, DOSM and mainly during the winter period
  • Ensure filing set procedure is followed

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Be a people person with enviable customer service skills;
  • At least 3 years of experience within the hospitality industry in managerial position. Convention and Events experience in a 5 star hotel preferred;
  • Hold a Hospitality degree;
  • Be a great communicator who allures guests from all over the world;
  • Have unflappable temperament and professional integrity;
  • Be an inspiring team player;
  • Have proper communication etiquette (both written and spoken) with internal and external guests;
  • Speak, write and converse freely in both Greek and English. Knowledge of any other language will be an advantage;
  • Possess strong computer skills and knowledge of Opera software
  • Have impeccable cooperation, attention to detail, inspiration, and organizational skills;
  • Be able to act proactively and constantly find creative solutions in every guest encounter;
  • Have the ability to prioritize and multitask.
