Land art movement along with site specific installations were the tabula rasa for brainstorming. Their aesthetics formed the core values of the concept which are the use of land as a mean and a scope in the same time. The landscape becomes an expanded garden and the house is a sculpture made out of its components.
The construction’s clarity encourages the contemplation of the natural environment.
Solid stone blocks interrupt the landscape as if they were thrown accidentally there and are coming to a synthetic dialogue with the glass box. The transition from transparency to solidity and vice versa becomes the design strategy to metamorphose the narrative experience and integrate harmoniously the house with the landscape.
A corridor – backbone leads to the glass box where all the public functions are set. The living area is degraded compared with the rest of the floor. The level of vision is approaching the level of the water and the garden, thus introducing an unexpected affiliation between the inside and the outside. The linear element of the pool which is running parallel to the house, guides the eye to the uninterrupted view. The whole is covered by a moving wooden canopy protecting the users from the intense rays of sunshine, all day long.
