Costa Navarino Golf Ladies Week on 9 – 12 March 2020

On the occasion of the International Women’s Day on the 8th of March 2020, Costa Navarino launches its first Costa Navarino Golf Ladies Week, inviting lady golfers to celebrate the achievements of women, in a specially designed week where every day is a new experience. The week will feature competitive golf, social events, interaction with special guests and a number of non-golfing activities, all designed with women in mind.

The package includes seven nights’ accommodation at The Westin Resort Costa Navarino, and four different and fun tournament rounds on the multi-award-winning Dunes and Bay courses, from March 9-12: Texas scramble; individual strokeplay for professionals, and Stableford for amateurs; greensomes; and fourball better-ball.

Also included in the package are shared buggies; free use of new TaylorMade rental sets, driving range and unlimited TaylorMade range balls; welcome drink and dinner with drinks; a prizegiving ceremony and party; and three dinners, with drinks, at different restaurants offering a variety of cuisines.

The week-long stay also includes additional off-course activities such as an ‘interactive’ cocktail experience; olive oil tasting; a sunset longest-drive competition from the roof of the earth-sheltered clubhouse, on the Bay Course; a special spa afternoon at the Anazoe Spa and complimentary access to the thalassotherapy pools and heat throughout the week; a golf clinic with a PGA professional; 20 per cent discount in the pro shop; and a night-time shopping trip to delve into Greek fashion.

The event’s media partner is UK-based magazine Women & Golf. Editor Alison Root said: “IWD is a great concept and one which should be celebrated worldwide. “This is an opportunity for lady golfers to come together in a competitive – yet social – and beautiful environment to celebrate the achievements of their gender and to have fun, in a climate many would not be used to experiencing in March. Women & Golf is delighted to be the event’s media partner.”

International Women’s Day (IWD) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women, and also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. IWD has occurred for more than a century, with the first gathering, in 1911, supported by more than a million people in Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland. Before this, the Socialist Party of America, United Kingdom’s Suffragists and Suffragettes, and further groups campaigned for women’s equality. IWD is not country, group or organisation specific, it belongs to all groups, collectively, everywhere.
