Two days before the engagement celebrations, the married women gather in the house of the bride-to-be. They are here to make the traditional 'diples' of Messinia.
A dough of flour and eggs is cooked in hot oil, while being curled into rolls with a fork. When ready, rich honey is poured over, with a sprinkling of cinnamon and nuts.
These diples are offered to the couple so they can enjoy a sweet life together.
